Long Beach, California

        Mark and Shawn’s Photo Page

Welcome to some of our recent traveling adventures during the end of 2008 and the beginning of 2009.

.

These are our explorations. You can either scroll down through the pictures on this page or click on the link for more pictures in the collection. Some of the collections are large files so be patient and don’t turn to the next picture too fast. When the first page displays you can use the right arrow key to move to the next picture.

We have made several trips to Craig Park in Fullerton.  The Mandarin and Wood ducks are incredible. They are really a treasure of the park and we enjoy their dynamic and contrasting displays. It is truly a sight to behold.

We visited the Monarch Butterfly Grove in Pismo Beach where we observed a great chorography of flora and fauna embellished into a magnificent fusion of tapestry of form.  We also were privileged to see the Elephant Seals and their young pups at San Simeon.

We returned to Long Beach to visit El Dorado Park one morning. It is always unpredictable what we will encounter but it is always fruitful and enjoyable.

Another nearby destination is the South Coast Botanical Garden. We observed a variety of life on its best behavior.

During our visits to El Dorado Park we have become enthralled by the Ospreys at Area III. Their acrobatics and aerodynamics are a great airshow as they survey their domain.

The El Dorado Park Nature Center is our favorite park. We usually take the two mile hike and always encounter great views placing everything into perspective.

We have a great view of hummingbirds outside our front doorstep.  If we could fly airplanes half as well as they can maneuver it would be a great accomplishment.

Thank you for visiting our webpage.
